For each evening of Berlin Art Week, Trauma was invited to curate the music for the sundowner at Berlin Art Week Garten. We will host a tight selection of Berlin’s leading nightlife initiatives and their resident DJs: DJ Killing representing Berlin’s favorite day party Royal Highness, Taylor Cherry for international club collective Gift, Aliar for after-hours hotspot Phantom, Adam Munnings B2B Elninodiablo for the city’s most stylish rave Lunchbox Candy, and last but not least we have African Acid Is The Future’s latest resident addition DJ Soulseek.
Founded in 2018, Trauma has built a reputation for commissioning cross-disciplinary projects that challenge conventional art formats and support collaborative works at the intersection of visual art, music, and performance. Trauma actively challenged the art world's entrenched hierarchies by bringing subcultural, youth-driven, and often marginalized artistic practices into contexts that typically dismiss or exoticize them. The goal was to shift perceptions and push for the recognition and canonization of these cultural expressions as serious contributions to contemporary art discourse. In 2024, after seven years at its venue on Heidestraße, Trauma transitioned into a nomadic curatorial platform, expanding its programming beyond Germany and continuing to evolve as an international instigator and conceptual infrastructure, one that adapts to context while fostering experimental, often ephemeral encounters.
