The freedom of art and science should never be taken for granted. They flourish only in open societies, under the rule of law and with strong institutions. ›Vorsicht Demokratie!‹ (›Caution: Democracy!‹), a campaign by Werkstatt Der Bevölkerung and Berlin Art Week, puts this conviction at its heart. In the Berlin Art Week PostGarten, visitors can discover artist-designed posters and explore the project further through conversations with those involved and a panel discussion.
The first participating institutions and artists are: Akademie der Künste, Berlinische Galerie, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.), neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst (nGbK), Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW), Haus am Lützowplatz, HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Georg Kolbe Museum, Stiftung Kunstforum Berliner Volksbank with artistic contributions by Rosemarie Trockel, Marina Naprushkina, Käthe Kruse, Ulf Aminde, Harry Hachmeister, Gernot Bubenik, and Herbert Mondry, Kat Válastur, Tianzhou Chen, Charlie Stein, Ruprecht von Kaufmann, Philipp Grözinger, Hans-Hendrik Grimmling, Sarah Schönfeld, Klaus Staeck, and Hans Haacke
