Caution: Art! Caution: Democracy!
How much institutional framework does freedom require? And how much ongoing defence does democracy demand? A discussion panel held as part of ›Caution: Democracy!‹ turns the spotlight on the role of democratic institutions in times of global upheaval and local attacks. Against a backdrop of financial pressure and institutional retrenchment, the question arises: what responsibility do art, cultural institutions, and civil society bear?
The joint campaign ›Caution: Democracy!‹ is an art- and cultural initiative organised as part of Berlin Art Week 2025; it sends a visible signal in support of freedom, plurality, and the fundamental values of the rule of law. Caution: Democracy! Panel guests will be announced shortly.
With Klaus Staeck, Wolfgang Kaleck, Johanna Keller and Marina Naprushkina.
The panel is part of the launch of the nationwide campaign ›Caution: Democracy!‹ in the context of Berlin Art Week 2025. ›Caution: Democracy!‹ is an initiative of Werkstatt Der Bevölkerung in cooperation with Berlin Art Week | Kulturprojekte Berlin.
