Postwar Utopia: Europe's Mystic Avantgardia
MoreEAM stands for Elke and Arno Morenz, who met the Lettrists in the 1960s and began collecting their art. Lettrism has its roots in Dadaism and surrealism. After the death of his wife Elke, Arno Morenz brought the collection from Paris to Berlin in 2013. In recent years, the collection has expanded its interest to other avant-garde groups from the 1950s such as CoBrA, Bauhaus Immaginista, Arte Nucleare, SPUR and Internationale Situationniste.
The exhibition ›Postwar Utopia: Europe’s Mystic Avantgardia‹ explores the influence of Isidore Isou, Asger Jorn and Guy Debord on the art of the post-war period.
